Nearby beaches and lakes: the beautiful shallow and sandy beach of Almyrida and Kalives are less than 10mins drive from the house. Just around the corner are Georgioupoli and its fresh water river joining the sea, Ombrosgialos bay perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving in the rocky inlets and turquoise sea and the peaceful and serene Lake Kournas.

Nearby historical & archeological site:  visit the ancient city of Aptera, the Monastery of Agios Georgios in Karydi, Agios Nikolaos Byzantine church, the Minoan archaeological settlement and much more.

Taste crete: Stop at the local oil factory and taste their amazing first press organic oil, attend a cooking workshop or just enjoy the amazing Cretan cuisine at the many local tavernas.

Enjoy the local festivals, celebrations & craft: the area has a fantastic creartive community with music and arts festivals, craft markets throughout the year. 

Recharge and relax at one of the local shalas and well being centres: you can find yoga studios, massage therapists & spas all within 10mins drive of the house (some therapists and yoga teachers even offer private sessions at the villa).
